What happens at my first chiropractic appointment?
When you make an appointment, we need to get to know you and your health. We will email you your Initial Intake Forms to help us understand what is your health concern. We can also do the paperwork when you first arrive. This will take an additional 15-30 minutes.
Next, Dr. Morgan will meet with you to discuss your history, current complaints, and health condition. He will conduct a thorough examination of your spine and any other areas of concern. Additional testing like x-rays or lab work may be ordered and evaluated to gain further insight.
If Dr. Morgan determines that it is safe to proceed, you will be adjusted.
How long does a chiropractic adjustment take?
Your first appointment will take about an hour to an hour and a half, depending on the depth of the exam required to identify a treatment plan for your health complaints.
Appointments after that take 20-30 minutes.
How much does it cost?
The initial appointment creates the foundation for which your chiropractic care will be built upon. We strive to provide valuable healthcare that produces expected results. Our compensation is reflected in the prices that we charge.
initial exams are typically $100-$150 not including additional diagnostic studies that may be required. Follow-up adjustments range $30-$75, depending on the required services necessary to achieve your health goals.
Do you offer wellness care plans?
Wellness care is an exceptional way to help maintain your health and reduce the risk of having health problems. Dr. Morgan can discuss with you what would be an appropriate schedule to help maintain your health.
Most insurance companies do not cover wellness care and as a result payment for plans are prepaid. The investment into your health is worth security of having consistent chiropractic care.
Do you offer Family Plans?
Yes! As a parent, Dr. Morgan wants to see families, from Mom and Dad to the children. Often the symptoms one has is shared by others. Dr. Morgan can help establish a Family Plan that will provide routine chiropractic care that meets the needs of the family and is affordable. We want our youth to be healthier, happier and hopeful to the future they will inherit.
Do you accept insurance or Medicare?
Yes, we accept most major insurance and Medicare. We can help you verify your insurance coverages, deductibles, co-pays and co-insurance amounts. When you come in for your first appointment bring your insurance/Medicare information and we will determine what is covered in your plan.
Is chiropractic safe?
Chiropractic is recognized across the world as one of the most conservative, safe, non-invasive, drug-free treatment options for back pain, headaches, shoulder pain, and other neuromusculoskeletal issues.
What kind of Chiropractor are you?
The Leland, Belville, and Wilmington ares are lucky to have several chiropractors with different skill sets to help patients with different problems. There are chiropractors that specialize in sports injury rehabilitation, general chiropractic, pregnancy, nutrition, neurology and other categories. Dr. Morgan works with the patients with pain and inflammation. He likes to focus on patients with health disorders like adrenal fatigue, hypothyroidism, ADD, diabetes, IBS, insomnia, and other autoimmune or inflammatory disorders. He helps patients understand the "how" and "why" these conditions exist in their body and what is required to heal.
Who can be adjusted?
Anyone from newborns to centenarians can benefit from chiropractic. Certain conditions may limit the type of adjustments you can receive.
What kind of conditions does chiropractic help?
Chiropractors are most known for helping the body heal from back pain, neck pain and headaches. But they can also help with many other conditions. When the body does not function the way that is normally has, odds are the chiropractor can give you a better understanding of what went wrong, how to fix it and how long it will take. A chiropractic visit and adjustment is your first step in healing.

Will I get sore after an adjustment?
It is possible to experience soreness after a chiropractic adjustment, especially if you have never been adjusted before or it's been a while since your last adjustment. Your body is re-acclimating to being in a healthier position. The tenderness is typically very temporary and usually only last about 24 hours.

What's that "popping" sound during an adjustment?
The adjustment of a joint may cause the release of gas in the joint, which makes a "popping" sound. An adjustment doesn't have to make any noise to be successful.
Once I start chiropractic care, I will have to keep going forever?
Forever is along time. We like to work in shorter time periods. For acute pain several visits may be required to help your body remove the pain and regain optimal function. For chronic pain, a longer more spread out schedule may be more appropriate. When you see the continued health benefits and reduced illnesses, less health concerns you will probably want to keep a simplified maintenance schedule, but ultimately its your choice.
What can be done to help an adjustment "stick"?
Sometimes weak or tense muscles can cause an adjustment to not "stick" or "hold" for as long as you would like it to. Dr. Morgan may include therapies and exercises in your treatment that will relieve tense muscles and strengthen weak muscles to help you stay in alignment. He also may advise nutritional changes or supplements that help your body become healthier so it needs fewer adjustments.
Are chiropractors real doctors?
While conventional doctors and chiropractic doctors approach health in different ways, the coursework is very similar. Chiropractors are awarded Doctoral degrees in Chiropractic by nationally accredited schools.
The biggest difference is that chiropractors focus on the the physical body and how adjustments impact different systems within it. They are neuro-muscular-skeletal specialist which, when understood, helps us see the far reaching impact the adjustment has on the body as a whole. Chiropractors also participate in a internships with patients in a supervised setting. They are required to be licensed at national and state levels, just like conventional doctors and pursue continuing education to retain practicing privileges.
